Triumph has been extremely busy preparing the 2027 model lineup.

The British brand have released a number of teasers over social media which has confirmed significant updates for the Tiger 1200, Tiger 900 and the all-new Street Triple 798. With new engines, radar-assisted rider aids and completely new chassis, Triumph is set to disrupt the adventure and naked segments with some of their most powerful, technologically advanced and capable motorcycles. Here’s a summary of what to expect from Triumph’s most anticipated releases of the year.

Street Triple 798 – Big update for Triumph’s naked offering thanks to Moto2!

The Street Triple 798 is set to receive a big update for 2027. In place of the existing 765cc engine, Triumph will use a larger capacity, more powerful engine sourced directly from their Moto2 racing division.

Expected specifications:

Engine: 798cc inline-three, liquid-cooled.

Power: Expected to be in the region of 135-140 HP (up from 128 HP on the existing 765RS).

Torque: Expected to be beyond 85 Nm (up from 80 Nm).

Chassis: All-new aluminium frame with a stronger double-sided swingarm.

Exhaust: Underbelly exhaust layout also to help centralise mass.

The Moto2 racing engine makes around 150 HP and although the road-going version will be detuned, the new engine will undoubtedly provide significantly more power and torque compared to the existing 765cc engine. The cylinder head, valve train and compression ratio have all been revised for the new engine to help improve low-end torque.

Tiger 1200 – Update the ultimate long distance adventure tourer!

The Tiger 1200 has long been the standard-setter when it comes to long distance adventure touring. The 2027 model is expected to bring significant updates to the spec-sheet, most notably in the power department and electronic rider aids.

Expected updates:

Engine: Updated 1,160cc T-plane triple with increased power and refinement (current output: 148 HP, 130 Nm).

Suspension: Triumph’s “most sophisticated ever” (expect semi-active suspension with multiple riding modes).

Electronics: Front-mounted radar suggests the inclusion of Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Detection (first-time for adventure bikes).

Design: Updated styling to give a more premium look.

The Tiger 1200 is set to continue its role as Triumph’s ultimate long distance adventure tourer for 2027 and it will undoubtedly continue to keep up with its competition. The addition of radar-assisted rider aids like Adaptive Cruise Control will allow for a much more relaxing ride on longer touring adventures.

Tiger 900 – Challenging the competition in the middleweight adventure segment!

The Tiger 900 has proven itself as a worthy rival to the likes of the BMW F 850 GS and the Ducati Multistrada V2. The new 2027 model is expected to bring similar updates as on the Tiger 1200, including a more powerful engine, updated chassis and radar-assisted technology.

Expected updates:

Engine: More powerful 888cc T-plane engine with increased power and torque over the existing specification (current output: 94 HP, 87 Nm).

Chassis: Updated frame and suspension.

Electronics: Front-mounted radar for Adaptive Cruise Control and potential collision warning.

Design: Similar premium look to the new Tiger 1200.

The Tiger 900 has always been the more agile, off-road capable alternative to the Tiger 1200 and with these updates, it should prove to be even more capable. The added technology like Adaptive Cruise Control will also be a welcome addition for long distance commuters.

Adaptive Cruise Control on Tiger 1200 and Tiger 900 – Coming soon to an Indian road near you!

One of the most shocking teasers that Triumph have released was the front-mounted radar on both the Tiger 1200 and Tiger 900 concept bikes. This technology has been seen on the likes of the Ducati Multistrada V4 and BMW R 1300 GS and it is set to allow for the inclusion of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) as a rider aid.

Potential features that may be included on Triumph adventure bikes:

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).

Blind Spot Detection (BSD).

Collision warning.

Lane Change Assist.

Adaptive Cruise Control is a feature that will be incredibly useful for long distance touring adventures and it is also extremely practical for commuters using their bikes on a regular basis. It is a feature that we’re expecting to see on more and more motorcycles in the coming years, especially from the premium brands like Triumph.

The 2027 model updates for Triumph prove that they are a serious contender within the premium motorcycle market. The Street Triple 798 has received a powerful update thanks to Triumph’s Moto2 engine, the Tiger 1200 will see significant updates to its already impressive specification and the Tiger 900 has received a number of updates to ensure that it maintains its position as one of the best middleweight adventure bikes in the segment. With the reveal dates set for 27th October, 17th November and 15th December 2026, Triumph certainly know how to create and build-up hype before an anticipated launch.
