Audi is preparing one of its biggest product updates for the Indian market. The German luxury carmaker is expected to bring several new models to India in 2027, including the next-generation Q5, the new Q7 and the all-electric Q6 e-tron. The major highlight is that these models are expected to be locally assembled, which could help Audi control prices and strengthen its position in India’s growing luxury car market.
The upcoming models will form part of Audi’s wider product expansion in India. Along with the new Q5, Q7 and Q6 e-tron, the company is also preparing the next-generation Q3, the A5 and the flagship Q9. This means Audi’s complete SUV line-up could receive a major refresh by the end of 2027.
Audi Q6 e-tron: The big electric comeback
The Q6 e-tron is expected to be launched in India around the middle of 2027. It will be an important model because it is likely to become Audi’s first electric vehicle to be assembled in India. The expected starting price is around Rs 85 lakh ex-showroom, although the final price will depend on equipment and local production plans.
The Q6 e-tron is based on Audi’s Premium Platform Electric architecture, which is also related to the platform used by the electric Porsche Macan. This means the SUV should offer strong performance, modern technology and a premium driving experience.
The India-spec Q6 e-tron is expected to use a large battery pack, possibly a 100kWh unit. It may come with a single rear-mounted motor producing around 306 hp. The expected range could be close to 641 km under the WLTP cycle, while the more aerodynamic Sportback version could offer approximately 656 km.
Audi may offer the Q6 e-tron in both regular SUV and Sportback body styles. The Sportback will have a more sloping roofline and a sportier look, while the standard SUV should offer better rear-seat headroom and more practicality.
Next-generation Audi Q5
The new Q5 will be another important launch for Audi India. It will replace the current-generation model and is expected to receive a completely new design, updated cabin and improved technology.
The next-generation Q5 will be based on Audi’s Premium Platform Combustion architecture. It is expected to get a more modern interior with digital screens, connected-car features and the latest Audi infotainment system. The cabin could also feature a separate screen for the front passenger, similar to the layout used in some of Audi’s newer models.
For India, the Q5 is expected to be offered with a turbo-petrol engine. However, there is still no clear confirmation about the exact engine, gearbox or availability of Quattro all-wheel drive. International markets may receive more powertrain options, but the Indian version could be offered with a more focused line-up.
Local assembly could help Audi price the new Q5 more competitively. The current-generation Q5 has been an important model for the brand, and the new version will need to deliver better features and stronger value to compete with the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC and Volvo XC60.

New Audi Q7
The new Q7 is expected to arrive in India by December 2027, with an estimated price of around Rs 1.2 crore ex-showroom. It will continue to be Audi’s large three-row luxury SUV and is expected to offer a spacious cabin for families.
The India-spec Q7 is likely to use a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-petrol engine producing approximately 367 hp and 550 Nm. Power could be sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Unlike previous versions, the new Q7 is not expected to receive a diesel engine in India.
The new Q7 should get sharper styling, a more advanced interior and updated driver-assistance technology. It will continue to compete with models such as the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE and Volvo XC90.

Audi’s new product plan shows that the company is not relying on just one type of vehicle. It is preparing petrol SUVs, large family models and electric cars for different types of customers.
