Bajaj Auto has recorded domestic two-wheeler sales of 1,50,448 units in July 2026. This number reflects a 15.66% year-on-year growth when compared with sales of 1,30,077 units recorded in July 2025. The sales were boosted by the company’s leading product range, Pulsar, and an outstanding 307% annual increase in Chetak electric scooter.

Sales Data Reveals Shift in Product Portfolio of Bajaj Auto
Pulsar is still the leading selling nameplate of the company. But at the same time, the importance of Chetak is also growing fast. Besides, Platina sales decreased and CT range sales remained almost stable.

Pulsar is Still the Best-Selling Product Range

Pulsar range has recorded 66,156 units of sales in July 2026, which makes it the best-selling product family of Bajaj Auto. It has contributed 43.97% to the company’s domestic two-wheeler sales in July 2026.

Still, sales of Pulsar has decreased compared with sales in the previous year. In July 2025, the range has recorded 79,817 units of sales, which represents a year-on-year decline of 17.12%.

Pulsar product range consists of motorcycles of the 125cc, 150cc, 160cc, 200cc and above categories. The popularity of the range is due to sporty style, performance, availability, and the variety of price points.

Recently Bajaj has introduced the Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150 with new engines, monoshock suspension, LED lighting, connected display, and Crawl Tech. All these innovations can help to boost sales in the coming months due to increased attractiveness for young buyers.

Chetak Records Impressive Growth

Chetak electric scooter has recorded sales of 47,184 units in July 2026, which compares to 11,584 units in July 2025. This is an impressive 307% year-on-year growth rate.

Chetak has taken the second place in sales contribution, accounting for 31.36% to Bajaj’s domestic two-wheeler sales. Besides, the scooter sales have increased by 17% on a month-on-month basis since 40,376 units were sold in June 2026.

It is a good illustration of the increasing popularity of electric scooters in India. Buyers are increasingly attracted to EVs due to lower operating expenses, silent operation, and low maintenance needs.

Bajaj has expanded its Chetak range to include several variants designed to satisfy different preferences and budgets. The company’s strong brand image and expanding dealer network are also contributing to higher sales of electric scooter line-up.

Such results indicate that the Chetak has already gone through the early-adopters stage and is becoming popular among urban buyers.

Platina Declines

July 2026 sales of Platina amounted to 27,421 units. This makes the nameplate Bajaj’s third best-seller after Pulsar and Chetak. Year-on-year decline was 6.81%. In July 2025, Bajaj managed to sell 29,424 units of the bike.

Typically, Platina is distinguished by high fuel efficiency and comfort of riding. The bike is mostly popular among commuters and people in search of a reliable vehicle with basic configuration.

Decline in sales can indicate increased competition within the commuter segment. Nowadays, customers have many alternatives produced by Hero MotoCorp, Honda, TVS and other companies.

Introducing of the new Platina 125 bike can be beneficial for Bajaj in order to compete successfully with rivals in the market. New model can draw attention of people looking for better performance of their vehicles.

CTs Fail to Grow

Sales of the CT series amounted to 4,727 units in July 2026. This number is very close to the previous year’s result, which amounts to 4,722 units. Thus, the year-on-year growth of the CT series reached only 0.11%.

The CT bikes are positioned as the affordable commuter products. They appeal to people focused on low cost of the bike purchase and maintenance rather than additional functions.

Despite the weak performance, CTs continue to provide Bajaj with additional sales volumes. Rugged look and basic mechanical configuration make CT a good choice for customers living in small towns and rural areas.

At the same time, the bike competes within the price-sensitive segment in which fuel efficiency and longevity are valued more than advanced technologies.

Premium Nameplates Achieve Different Results
Results of Bajaj’s premium motorcycles in July 2026 can be described as mixed. Dominar 250 managed to record 731 units, whereas Dominar 400 achieved 218 units.

Avenger series recorded 1,848 units in July. This range appeals to customers who are looking for affordable cruiser motorcycle. At the same time, sales figures are low comparing with Pulsar series.

Freedom CNG recorded 11,826 units in July. Bajaj’s motorcycle is unique, as it can be powered both by compressed natural gas and by petrol. Thus, low cost of maintenance can become an advantage for the model.

However, Freedom CNG sales are inferior to those of Chetak and Pulsar. Introduction of a bike operating with the new fuel is challenging for Bajaj, as the majority of customers prefer petrol motorcycles and e-scooters.

Importance of Electric Mobility Grows

Sales of Chetak constitute the most important trend of Bajaj Auto in July 2026. The electric scooter has been contributing almost one-third of the total sales of Bajaj Auto’s two-wheelers in the domestic market.

The growing trend is due to the fact that the range of electric scooters, improvements in charging technology and increasing cost of fuel is prompting more customers to buy them.

The company will have to sustain this growth while improving price, distance per charge and other parameters, such as after-sale service. Moreover, Bajaj Auto is going to face stiff competition from TVS, Ola Electric, Ather, Hero Vida and a host of others who have entered the segment.

Prospects for Bajaj Auto

July sales numbers of Bajaj Auto indicate high growth rates for the company, but it varies considerably depending on the particular line of products. Pulsar constitutes the main volume for the company, while Chetak is gaining importance as the growth driver.

The fall in sales of Pulsar indicates the necessity for the company to update its lineup of motorcycles as the time goes. The recent upgrade of Pulsar 125 and 150 might come useful in this situation.

Moreover, the fall in Platina sales and stagnant CT numbers are the indication of pressure in the commuter segment. At the same time, the low numbers for Dominar and Avenger suggest that Bajaj needs to update its approach in the segment of premium motorcycles.

1,50,448 two-wheelers were sold by Bajaj Auto in July. The company demonstrated good year-over-year growth. Bajaj Auto’s future depends on sustaining its position in the Pulsar and commuter segments and on growing its premium product lineup.
