Bajaj Auto launched the new generation Bajaj Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150 in India. These motorcycles have received significant updates, such as new engines, monoshock rear suspension, LED lighting, connected console and the innovative Crawl Tech feature from Bajaj.
Price starts from ₹92,990 for the new Pulsar 125 and ₹1,15,233 for Pulsar 150, ex-showroom. In addition to the price range, there are several variants which offer choices like single and split seats, coloured LCD and TFT displays, as well as single or double disc brake systems.
Importance of this update is explained by the fact that Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150 belong to one of the most popular bikes in the manufacturer’s portfolio. Therefore, Bajaj added the features usually available in higher-class motorcycles in order to make the sporty commuters even more appealing for young customers.
New Engines with Better Performance
The new Pulsar 125 and Pulsar 150 come with completely new engines. They were designed in order to provide a better overall performance for this type of motorcycle.
According to the internal performance index of the company, Pulsar 150 has reached the level of 100, compared to 93 in the old model. The Pulsar 125 has been improved from 81 to 93.
The Pulsar 125 develops 12PS and 11.4Nm of torque at 6,000rpm, whereas the Pulsar 150 generates 14PS and 14.1Nm at 6,500rpm.
Bajaj claims that both engines generate 85% of their torque from 3,000rpm and upwards. It will allow the motorcycles to be faster responding in everyday conditions. Low torque is especially helpful during riding in traffic, climbing flyovers and transporting a pillion passenger.
Both motorcycles have manual gearboxes and were designed to keep the sporty character of the bike in question. Nevertheless, in addition to it, Bajaj tried to make them more efficient.
Crawl Tech for Traffic Situations
One of the greatest highlights of the new Pulsars is Crawl Tech. According to the claims from Bajaj, this is the first of its kind in the 125cc and 150cc motorcycles segments.
Thanks to Crawl Tech, it will become possible to control the speed of the motorcycle from 5kmph in first gear to 25kmph in fifth gear of the Pulsar 125 without touching the throttle. On the Pulsar 150 it is possible to travel from 10kmph to 30kmph in first and fifth gears without touching the throttle.
Through Crawl Tech, the bike can manage speeds around 5kmph in first gear. The speed of the motorcycle increases gradually and attains 25kmph in fifth gear.
The speed of the Pulsar 150 starts from 10kmph in first gear and can attain up to 30kmph in fifth gear without applying any throttle.
The feature could prove beneficial in congested urban settings. It could also assist new bikers in getting better confidence while navigating through crowded streets slowly. But riders will still have to apply the clutch and brakes based on the requirement.

TFT Display with Google Navigation
High-end variants of both the motorcycles get a 5-inch TFT instrument display. The system works with Google navigation by projecting the screen of the phone on the screen of the motorcycle.
The linked console is compatible with phones running Android and iOS operating systems. The console can project turn-by-turn navigation, phone call notifications, SMS notifications, control over the music player and other connected services.
The TFT display can also house the digital copy of the documents of the vehicle, including the registration certificate and insurance document. It helps riders to get convenient access to the important information.
Low variants come with the coloured LCD instrument console. USB Type-C charging is a standard feature on almost all variants. The base version of Pulsar 125 gets it as an optional feature.
Variants and Price of the New Bajaj Pulsar 150New Pulsar 150 is available in Single Disc and Twin Disc variants.
The Single Disc variant of the motorcycle is available for ₹1,15,233. The Single Disc variant gets a single-seated design, coloured LCD console, monoshock suspension, Crawl Tech, LED headlamp and USB Type-C charger.
The Twin Disc variant with single seat is available for ₹1,22,184. Split seat Twin Disc variant of the motorcycle is priced at ₹1,23,187.
Twin Disc variants get 5-inch TFT console, LED indicators, hazard lights, ISG and USB Type-C charger. Customers can choose the motorcycle either with single seat or split seat according to their requirements.
The new Pulsar 150 gets new sharp LED headlamp, new tank extensions, new visible chassis and new exhaust. Clip-on handlebars and belly pan further increase its sporty looks.
Variants and Price of the New Bajaj Pulsar 125
New Pulsar 125 is offered in three variants – Base, Standard and Premium.
Base variant is priced at ₹92,990 and includes one-seater, LCD display, monoshock suspension, Crawl Tech and LED headlamp.
Standard one-seater variant will cost ₹99,291 and the Standard two-seater is priced at ₹1,00,288. The high-end Premium two-seater variant is priced at ₹1,04,318.
The middle-grade and Premium variants come with 5 inches TFT display, ride modes, LED indicators, hazard lights, ISG and USB Type-C charger. The Premium model gets all the connected tech equipment along with two-seater setup.
Pulsar 125 also gets a new LED headlight, upgraded fuel tank extension, dual-tone exhaust, redesigned tail light and revamped grab bars. The old twin shock absorber rear suspension has been replaced by monoshock in both models.
Colors and Design
Bajaj Motorcycles has offered both models in five color options.
The Pulsar 125 comes in Sapphire Blue, Fury Red, Ebony Black Magenta Red, Ebony Black Cyan Blue and Dark Silver colors.
The Pulsar 150 is available in Sapphire Blue, Fury Red, Ebony Black Magenta Red, Ebony Black Ink Blue and Pearl Metallic White colors.
Depending on the variant and color, the bikes get contrasting graphics, matching belly pan and rim highlight.
Competition
The new Pulsar 125 faces competition from Hero Xtreme 125R, TVS Raider 125 and Honda SP125. The sports look combined with connectivity features and Crawl Tech makes the Pulsar 125 better than the competition.
The Pulsar 150 continues to face competition from bikes such as Honda Unicorn, TVS Apache RTR 160 and other bikes in the 150cc-160cc segment.
With new engines, monoshock suspension, TFT navigation system and low speed assistant technology that is unique for the segment, Bajaj has done substantial upgrades to their best selling Pulsar models.
