Are you planning on buying a Maruti Suzuki this month? Brace yourself, as there is a new revision in place for the August 2026 period. Maruti has introduced a new price revision on selected models across its Arena and Nexa range, increasing prices by up to ₹30,000 on selected models from August 2026.
Reasons for the price revision
Maruti Suzuki has cited rising input costs as the primary reason for the price revision. As expected from an automobile manufacturer, the company has been facing issues due to inflation in raw materials such as steel, rubber, and electronics, which have caused their manufacturing costs to increase.
The manufacturer has had to take this step in order to maintain profit margins and continue with their operations in 2026. Other mainstream manufacturers like Hyundai and Mahindra have also raised prices in August 2026 due to similar reasons.

Models impacted by the revision
Although Maruti Suzuki has not provided a detailed list of models and prices impacted by the price revision, reports suggest that the price hike is applicable for all models across Arena and Nexa channels. Some of the popular models impacted by this price revision are Swift, Baleno, Wagon R, Brezza, Grand Vitara, and Invicto MPV.
Prices vary based on the fuel type and variant, as petrol models are getting a complete ₹30,000 price increase, whereas the CNG and hybrid models will see a lower price increase.
Impact on buyers
Even for a buyer purchasing an entry-level model, a ₹10,000 – ₹15,000 increase in price can affect their purchase decision. For those purchasing higher variants, a ₹30,000 increase in price can add extra pressure to their overall cost.
However, Maruti Suzuki is also running several promotional offers on several models in August 2026. You can enjoy cash discounts, exchange bonus discounts, and corporate discounts of up to ₹1.55 lakh on popular models such as Invicto, Grand Vitara, and Victoris.
Whether to buy a Maruti or hold off for now?
Given the current scenario where monsoon rains are causing disruption and festive season demand is upcoming, another price revision is very much on cards for the remaining months of the year. So, it might be a good idea to check out the prices of your desired Maruti model in the showroom before prices go up once again.
In addition to this, take note of CNG and strong hybrid variants as they usually have a different discount scheme to counterbalance some of the increased cost.
With the latest price increase by Maruti Suzuki, it becomes very clear how difficult it is for the Indian automotive industry to operate in the year 2026. Although Maruti is still considered value for money, consumers have to take these increases into consideration while budgeting for the car.
