Renault India has updated the Kiger lineup with four new variants and a broader spread across naturally aspirated and turbo powertrains, making the SUV more accessible to buyers in the entry B-SUV segment. The latest move is aimed at bringing premium features and turbo performance to more price-sensitive customers while keeping the Kiger’s value-driven positioning intact.

With this update, the Renault Kiger Turbo has become one of the most accessible turbo SUVs in its segment, starting at Rs 7.89 lakh ex-showroom. At the same time, Renault has introduced a new Evolution+ variant across both naturally aspirated and turbo options, with prices starting at Rs 6.99 lakh ex-showroom. The company says this is part of its effort to make desirable features available to a wider audience without losing sight of performance and practicality.
The new Evolution+ variant is one of the key highlights of the update. It brings several popular features that customers usually associate with more expensive vehicles. These include a Smart Access Card with Push Start Stop, automatic climate control, wireless smartphone replication, driver seat height adjustment, and light embossed fabric upholstery. By offering these features at more accessible price points, Renault is trying to make the ownership experience feel richer and more convenient for everyday buyers.
Renault India’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Francisco Hidalgo, said the company has always focused on making innovation and mobility more accessible. He added that the new Kiger range continues that approach by bringing turbo performance, premium features, and greater choice within easier reach. According to him, accessibility is not only about price but also about creating a more complete and rewarding ownership experience. That philosophy appears to guide this latest variant expansion.
The turbocharged range has been expanded from three variants to five, giving buyers more options if they want stronger performance in an affordable SUV. One of the notable changes is that the Turbo Techno variant is now also available with a 5 speed manual transmission. This addition makes the turbo offering more flexible and gives customers a more attainable way to experience the performance side of the Kiger lineup. Renault is clearly trying to widen the turbo SUV’s appeal beyond just one type of buyer.
The naturally aspirated range has also been expanded, going from six variants to eight. This gives customers a broader spread across price points and makes it easier to choose a Kiger that suits both budget and feature expectations. The company’s intent is to create a more seamless ladder of variants, so buyers can move up the range more naturally instead of jumping between large price gaps.
The Kiger itself continues to be positioned as a stylish and practical compact SUV. It stands out with bold SUV styling, a spacious cabin, and a feature set designed for modern urban users. Renault says the SUV’s new structure makes it more relevant to evolving customer needs, especially in a segment where buyers want a combination of design, comfort, performance, and affordability.
The model’s stronger specifications continue to support that pitch. Among its key strengths is a 100 PS turbocharged petrol engine that offers the best torque to weight ratio in its segment. Renault also highlights the Kiger’s best in segment 0 to 100 kmph performance among turbo variants, along with Mirror Bore Coating technology and the X Tronic CVT with D Step technology. These features help the Kiger stay competitive not only on price but also on engineering appeal.
Practicality remains another major selling point. The SUV offers 205 mm of ground clearance, which is useful for Indian road conditions, along with 405 litres of boot space and 29 litres of cabin storage. Renault also claims best in segment rear knee room and strong front couple distance, which supports its family oriented positioning. Functional roof bars with a 50 kg load capacity add further utility.
For buyers in the B-SUV segment, the Kiger update matters because it changes how the model is positioned in the market. Instead of focusing only on price or only on performance, Renault is trying to combine both. The expanded range gives customers more choice, more accessible turbo power, and more premium features without pushing them too far up the price ladder.
Renault India continues to rely on the Kiger as one of its key products in the country. With this update, the company is reinforcing the SUV’s reputation as a feature rich, value focused model that can compete strongly in one of the most crowded categories in the market. The expanded lineup shows that Renault wants the Kiger to remain relevant to customers who want style, practicality, and a more premium experience at an accessible price.
