The Fronx facelift is already being spied on the road, however there will also be an all-new 3-row electric MPV, family MPV updates and possibly another small electric vehicle. Maruti’s second electric vehicle to come to India (internally named ‘YMC’) has already been spotted.
Maruti Fronx Facelift
The Fronx facelift is one of the most anticipated releases coming up for Maruti. Spies have caught sight of test mules which show off new front and rear styling. This includes an all new grille, new bumpers and new lights.
Under the bonnet, the Fronx will keep its 1.2 litre ‘Z’ series petrol engine and 1.0 litre turbo-petrol engine option. However reports show that Maruti may also include new features such as ventilated seats, TPMS and level 2 ADAS.
The facelift is due in early 2027. Pricing is estimated at between Rs 7-12 lakh. It will continue to take on competitors like the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet.
Maruti ‘YMC’ Electric MPV
Maruti’s most exciting new model coming up is the ‘YMC’. It is expected to be their first all-electric MPV. Spies have caught this model with a 3 row layout, tall body and SUV-like design. It has a long roof to provide maximum family space.
It will use Maruti’s specifically designed EV platform, with components from the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara. If it uses the same battery packs from the e Vitara (49kWh and 61kWh) then it could offer a claimed range of around 543km from the larger 61kWh battery. However Maruti have not confirmed anything about the battery or range.
Features are expected to include a large touchscreen, panoramic glass roof, 360 camera and level 2 ADAS. It is due to be released in 2027. There is also a version with a Toyota badge that is currently being developed.
Maruti Victoris Spotted
A heavily disguised Maruti Victoris test car has been spotted. This is causing people to wonder if it will get a new powertrain. However, there is nothing confirming if it will be an electric version, flex fuel prototype or just a development.
A facelift seems unlikely as it was only launched in 2025. Maruti have not given any official details about design, features or engine changes.
Another EV
Maruti is also set to announce another electric vehicle in 2027. Details are very limited, but it will be expanding past its e Vitara. They are expected to include a more affordable, smaller electric vehicle.
This could be vital for Maruti as the e Vitara is designed to be a premium mid sized electric SUV. With a compact electric vehicle they can enter the mass-market small car sector.
New Maruti Ertiga
The Ertiga will get a generation change in February 2027. This means we can expect to see a new design, upgraded interior, improved safety features and possibly new engines.
Pricing is expected to be between Rs 10-16 lakh. The Ertiga will continue to be a key player in Maruti’s lineup. Especially for families and fleets looking for an affordable 7 seater MPV.
Maruti XL6 Facelift
The XL6 is also expected to get a facelift in February 2027. This is the premium model of the Ertiga so it will likely get some new styling, upgraded interior and extra comfort and safety features.
Pricing is expected to be between Rs 11.52-14.47 lakh. The XL6 will continue to target those wanting a 6 seater MPV with a more premium feel.

Grand Vitara Update
The Grand Vitara is expected to get a facelift between late 2026 and March 2027. It could get a new grille, new LED headlights, new alloy wheels and upgraded interior with a 10.1” touchscreen, digital dashboard and electric tailgate.
It will continue to offer petrol, strong hybrid and CNG options. Reports show it may also get level 2 ADAS and a Dolby Atmos sound system.
More Electric and Hybrid Options
Maruti are also getting ready to release more electric and series hybrids. Alongside their current petrol models, they are creating electric vehicles, series hybrids and 3 row family cars.
With the YMC electric MPV they are adding more electric vehicles to their lineup. The Fronx facelift could also get a series hybrid. Reports say that this could have a 1.2 litre petrol engine to act as a generator for their electric motor. This will give them similar acceleration to an EV and an estimated fuel economy of 30-35kmpl.

Maruti Suzuki are clearly changing their lineup to not just rely on petrol hatchbacks and small SUVs. With the Fronx facelift, YMC electric MPV, new Ertiga, XL6 update and possible small EV they are looking to enter the electric, hybrid and family MPV markets. Plus they are also looking to enter the premium SUV sectors.
Over the next 12-18 months they could be looking to completely change their future in India. If they can provide affordable pricing, good safety features and reliable electric tech then it could really change their position in a rapidly changing car industry in the country.
