Bajaj Just Made The Pulsar NS200 A Mini Superbike Rs 1.60 Lakh, Quickshifter, Ride Modes, Traction Control And A Proper TFT Screen
Bajaj Auto has launched the updated Pulsar NS200 in India at Rs 1,60,374, ex-showroom Delhi, and this is the most significant upgrade the iconic streetfighter has got in years. The 2026 NS200 now gets an electronic throttle body, five ride modes, traction control, a bi-directional quickshifter, a 5-inch TFT display and stronger suspension hardware – features that were unimaginable on a 200cc Pulsar until recently.
Price: A Big Jump, But A Big Upgrade
The new Pulsar NS200 is priced at Rs 1.60 lakh, making it roughly Rs 20,771 more expensive than the earlier top variant. It is also about Rs 11,000 more expensive than the existing USD-fork NS200, which was priced around Rs 1.49 lakh.
This is a big jump in price for a 200cc motorcycle, but Bajaj has added a long list of premium equipment, including a TFT console, ride-by-wire throttle, quickshifter and traction control – putting the NS200 into a much higher technology bracket than before.

More Power From The Familiar Engine
The NS200 continues with its familiar 199.5cc, four-valve, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine but Bajaj has retained the six-speed gearbox, although the power output has increased to 25.5 PS from 24.5 PS in the outgoing model.
The peak torque of 18.7 Nm has remained unchanged, but the additional 1 PS will likely be felt more on the road due to the new electronics, including the electronic throttle body and Sports Shifter.
Electronic Throttle Body Changes Everything
The new Pulsar NS200 receives the electronic throttle body (ETB) or the ride-by-wire system, which allows Bajaj to introduce electronic rider aids on the NS200.
With the ETB, the NS200 now gets five ride modes: Road, Rain, Sport, Off-Road and Tour that change throttle response and power delivery for different situations.
The electronic throttle body also opens the door for traction control – a much-needed safety and performance feature for a motorcycle in this segment.
Sports Shifter: Clutchless Shifting Arrives
Bajaj has added its Sports Shifter on the NS200, which is essentially a bi-directional quickshifter that allows clutchless upshifts and downshifts under appropriate operating conditions, similar to what you get on the Pulsar NS400Z.
It should make the NS200 less tiring to ride on the highway and more responsive when you need to carry out aggressive downshifts on the track. The Sports Shifter also gives the NS200 a more premium feel and a direct competition to much more expensive motorcycles in the segment.
5-Inch TFT Display With Google Maps
The semi-digital LCD cluster on the previous NS200 has been replaced by a 5-inch colour TFT display with Google Maps mirroring function.
The TFT screen also offers features such as music control, document storage and a lap timer through the compatible app. A USB Type-C charging port has been integrated into the console to make it easier for owners to keep their smartphones charged.
Better Hardware For Better Handling
Bajaj has upgraded the front suspension from 33 mm USD forks to 37 mm USD forks on the NS200. Upgraded perimeter frame, box-section swingarm and preload-adjustable rear monoshock are carried over from the previous model.
At the rear, the NS200 now gets a 130/70-R17 radial tyre, replacing the older bias-ply unit, while the front tyre size remains at 100/80-R17. These changes will have a positive impact on the handling and stability of the NS200, especially at higher speeds.
More Rider-Friendly Features
The new Pulsar NS200 has received a number of rider-friendly additions, including:
Adjustable brake and clutch levers
Hazard warning switch
Panic Brake Alert, which flashes the hazard lights under harsh braking
USB Type-C charging port
12-litre fuel tank and 805 mm seat height carried over
These changes ensure that the NS200 remains a practical daily mount while being a proper sporty motorcycle.
Who Should Buy The New NS200?
The updated NS200 is pitched against the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, while the KTM 200 Duke and other premium 200cc motorcycles can also be considered by buyers on a higher budget – but for the majority of people, the Pulsar NS200 will continue to be the most interesting streetfighter in its segment due to its new electronics and technology upgrades.
The 2026 Pulsar NS200 has transformed into one of the most feature-packed 200cc motorcycles in India, thanks to the new technology equipment, including ride modes, traction control, a bi-directional quickshifter and a TFT navigation system. It has a lot going for it compared to its nearest rival and even more so in comparison to other budget 200cc motorcycles.
At Rs 1.60 lakh, it is more expensive than before, but the new equipment makes the upgrade worthwhile for the Pulsar fanboys.
