MG Motor India is set to launch a new Windsor EV Indulge Edition, and leaked images have shown a much more premium version of India’s popular electric MPV-style SUV. The special edition gets a striking Shadow Gold exterior, black 18-inch alloy wheels, exclusive ‘Indulge’ badges, tan-and-black upholstery, and the biggest highlight – a roof-mounted flip-down screen for rear passengers, called the Prive Screen.

The Windsor EV has already sold more than 80,000 units in two years, and is one of India’s most successful electric cars. With the Indulge Edition, MG seems to be targeting buyers who want a more luxurious, feature-rich electric family car, but not going to a much more expensive premium EV.

Exterior: Shadow Gold and Blacked-Out Styling

The leaked images show that the Windsor EV Indulge Edition will look noticeably different than the standard model. The most obvious change is a new Shadow Gold paint finish that gives the EV a more upscale and exclusive look.

Other exterior updates include:

18-inch black alloy wheels for a sportier contrast against the gold body colour.

‘Indulge’ badges on the rear quarter glass and possibly other exterior panels.

All-black roof, which continues from the standard Windsor EV.

Blacked-out ORVMs, which further add to the premium two-tone look.

LED lighting, including connected LED DRLs and tail lamps.

Body cladding and rear spoiler, retaining the Windsor’s familiar SUV-MPV silhouette.

Mechanically, the Indulge Edition appears to be identical to the regular Windsor EV, and so MG is focusing on exclusivity and comfort in terms of cabin and features rather than performance.

Interior: A Rear-Seat Entertainment Upgrade

The biggest change is inside, with the Indulge Edition set to feature a roof-mounted flip-down display for second-row passengers. MG calls it the Prive Screen, and it is expected to make the Windsor among a few electric cars in its price bracket to feature rear-seat entertainment. The cabin will continue with the black-and-ivory theme of the standard Windsor EV, but the seats will get a new Urban Tan and Black leatherette finish. The front-seat headrests will carry ‘Indulge’ embossing while MG is expected to provide neck cushions for front passengers and pillows for rear passengers.

Other expected cabin features include:

15.6-inch GRANDVIEW touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

9-speaker Infinity audio system.

256-colour ambient lighting.

Panoramic glass roof.

Ventilated front seats.

Powered tailgate.

PM2.5 air filter.

360-degree camera.

Six airbags and ADAS-based safety features.

The rear-seat screen is likely to be the main attraction, especially for families who frequently travel long distances.

Powertrain: 449 km Range Expected

The Windsor EV Indulge Edition is expected to retain the existing powertrain options. The standard Windsor EV uses a 38 kWh battery with a claimed range of 332 km, while the larger 52.9 kWh battery has a claimed range of 449 km.

Both versions use a front-mounted electric motor that produces 136 hp and 200 Nm of torque. The motor drives the front-wheels and so the Windsor EV is a front-wheel-drive electric vehicle.

The larger 52.9 kWh pack supports up to 60 kW DC fast charging, while AC home charging is rated at 7.4 kW. MG is also expected to retain Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging functions, which allows the Windsor EV to power appliances or charge another electric vehicle.

Price and Launch Date

MG has not officially announced the launch date or price of the Windsor EV Indulge Edition, but based on the leaks, it could arrive during the festive season, possibly around October 2026.

The standard Windsor EV is currently priced between Rs. 14.1 lakh and Rs. 18.6 lakh ex-showroom. As the Indulge Edition includes exclusive paint, premium upholstery, special badges and a rear entertainment screen, it is expected to cost a bit more than the equivalent standard variant.

A realistic expected price could be around Rs. 18–20 lakh ex-showroom, depending on whether MG offers it with the 38 kWh battery, 52.9 kWh battery, or both.

Should You Wait for It?

The MG Windsor EV Indulge Edition is not a performance upgrade but could be the most desirable version of the Windsor yet. The Shadow Gold paint, black alloys, tan-and-black cabin, and rear flip-down screen gives it a much more premium feel. Buy the Indulge Edition if you want a premium-looking electric family car, rear-seat comfort and entertainment matters to you, you want a claimed range of up to 449 km, and you like exclusive styling and special-edition detailing.

Skip it if you want the lowest possible price, you don’t need the rear entertainment screen, or you prefer a more conventional SUV design. With its leaked luxury features and family-friendly electric powertrain, the MG Windsor EV Indulge Edition could become one of the most exciting premium EV launches of the festive season.
