Honda Rebel 300 Launched at ₹2.22 Lakh with E-Clutch Option: Bookings Open, Deliveries from October

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has unveiled the Rebel 300 in India. The cruiser motorcycle has gone live at an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹2.22 lakh. The Rebel 300 also comes fitted with Honda’s state-of-the-art E-Clutch system, which can be availed in the top variant at ₹2.62 lakh (ex-showroom Bengaluru).

Bookings have commenced for the Honda Rebel 300 online via the company’s website and BigWing showrooms in India, starting from a token fee of ₹5,000. Delivery of the motorcycle is scheduled to commence from mid-October 2026. The motorcycle is only available at the company’s premium network of BigWing showrooms.

This launch is another effort by Honda to gain a strong foothold in India’s mid-capacity cruiser market. With its low seat height, easy riding position, stylish design and compact engine, the Rebel 300 will likely appeal to seasoned bikers as well as those wanting to upgrade from smaller motorcycles.

Two Variants

Honda has unveiled the Rebel 300 in two variants – Standard and E-Clutch. The former goes on sale at ₹2.22 lakh, whereas the latter is priced at ₹2.62 lakh.

It means you will have to shell out an additional ₹40,000 to get the E-Clutch technology. Although the price difference is hefty, the feature may appeal to those who ride extensively in the city or require a more relaxed riding experience.

Both variants come with identical engine, chassis, suspension and braking system. The main point of differentiation between the two is the clutch-assist feature provided in the more expensive variant.

The price tag of the entry-level variant also makes the Rebel 300 comparable with some of the popular motorcycles in the country, including the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Honda CB350. The cruiser motorcycle with its unique styling and low seat height will distinguish itself from traditional roadsters and retro motorcycles.

E-Clutch Makes the Riding Comfortable

The first thing you get to notice about the Honda Rebel 300’s top-of-the-line model is the E-Clutch technology, which automates the process of clutch engagement and disengagement during the process of gear change, letting the rider shift gears using the gear lever without engaging the clutch lever.

This doesn’t mean the rider can’t use the clutch lever when needed. It simply adds another level of convenience to the motorcycle when used in traffic, when starting from a standstill, and at low speed.

It might be useful for making the ride less tiring, especially if used in crowded urban areas. The rider won’t have to operate the clutch lever each time he has to move forward or slow down.

For beginners, the E-Clutch might help prevent the motorcycle from stalling, which might happen while starting. On the other hand, advanced riders will be able to continue using the clutch when they want a more interesting riding experience.

It is expected that the Rebel 300 E-Clutch will become the most affordable motorcycle with Honda’s E-Clutch in India.

286cc Engine Delivers 30hp

The Honda Rebel 300 is driven by a 286cc liquid-cooled engine. It delivers 30hp and 27.5Nm of torque. The engine is mated with a six-speed gearbox.

The engine is designed to deliver smooth and predictable performance rather than aggressive power delivery. Its torque output will be enough for city riding, highway cruising and even long-distance trips.

The six-speed gearbox enables the rider to maintain low engine revolutions at highway speeds. In case of the E-Clutch version, no clutch lever operation is needed to change the gears, while the Standard version will feature the traditional manual clutch.

Its small capacity should make it easier for riders moving from 150cc and 200cc motorcycles. The liquid-cooling system will be helpful in maintaining stable performance during long trips.

Low Seat Height and Cruiser Ergonomics

One of the most significant advantages that the Rebel 300 offers Indian customers is its very low seat height of only 690mm. This feature can become especially useful for shorter riders since other types of motorcycles, such as adventures or roadsters, might be hard to handle because of their higher seats.

A lower seat makes it easier to plant two feet on the ground in a stand-still position. This can contribute to increased safety when performing manoeuvres in traffic, during parking or moving slowly.

Being priced at ₹2.22 lakh, the Honda Rebel 300 competes with motorcycles like the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Meteor 350, Honda CB350 and Jawa 42 Bobber.

The main differences of the Honda motorcycle are low seat height, liquid cooling system and modern cruiser design. The E-Clutch feature adds some extra tech element, although the ₹40,000 price difference can make the Standard variant more attractive for cost-conscious buyers.

The BigWing dealership network is going to offer premium customer experience. Buyers will receive sales support, services and a chance to purchase motorcycles from a bigger capacity range of the manufacturer.

Bookings and Deliveries

Bookings have been opened for ₹5,000 via Honda website and BigWing dealerships. Deliveries are planned to start from mid-October 2026.

The launch price is applicable ex-showroom in Bangalore, and prices may vary from state to state due to differences in taxes and registration fees among others.

Equipped with low seat height, sophisticated 286cc engine, cruiser design and E-Clutch system option, the Honda Rebel 300 offers a new choice in the middle class motorcycle category in India.
