Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has introduced the ADV160 in the country, priced at ₹1.70 lakh (ex-showroom Bengaluru). The newly-introduced scooter is set to be the first among the ten models announced by Honda as a part of its product line-up in July 2026 to receive an official price tag.
Now, the Honda ADV160 can be booked in the country with a token payment of ₹5,000 via Honda’s official website as well as authorized dealerships. It will be offered for sale in RedWing and BigWing showrooms, with deliveries starting from mid-October 2026.
With the launch of the Honda ADV160, the Japanese brand gets its first offering in the rising adventure-style scooter segment in India. It combines the utility of a maxi-scooter with aggressive looks and connectivity options, coupled with a fuel-flexible engine that can operate on petrol with up to 85 percent ethanol content.
India’s First E85-Equipped Scooter
The most noteworthy aspect about the Honda ADV160 is its FlexTech technology. According to Honda, the scooter is India’s first offering in its class capable of operating on E85 fuel.
E85 fuel is a petrol-based blend that contains up to 85 percent of ethanol. It is a part of Honda’s multi-pathway strategy for India, with the company developing multiple solutions to promote lower-carbon mobility.
Of course, the availability of E85 fuel in India will be contingent upon local fuel-retailing infrastructure, as the fuel may not be available everywhere yet. However, the Honda ADV160 will allow using it with lower blends of ethanol content, making the scooter future-ready and able to use conventional petrol as well.
156.93cc Liquid-Cooled Engine
The powerplant of the Honda ADV160 is a 156.93cc, liquid-cooled engine. Honda has not provided the power and torque figures in its launch announcement.
The liquid-cooling system of the engine will ensure its stable operation in various conditions. As for the power output, it will likely be enough for daily rides in cities and even highway trips.
The Honda ADV160 is mostly meant to be a practical urban scooter. Even though the scooter looks like a dedicated off-roader due to its adventure styling, it is not designed to tackle harsh terrains. The engine of the scooter should offer sufficient performance for rides in cities and on paved roads, as well as for weekend adventures.
While the adventure styling implies off-road capabilities, the scooter’s main purpose lies in handling cracked roads and rough surfaces within urban settings.

Adventure-Inspired Maxi-Scooter Design
The Honda ADV160 comes with the styling and look of a maxi-scooter enhanced by the aggressive appearance. It has a tall windscreen, angular body panels, a stepped seat and a raised handlebar.
The sturdy lower panels serve as the visual protection and add strength to the scooter’s looks. Based on Honda’s adventure bikes, the maxi-scooter design makes it look modern and appealing.
The upright position should ensure good visibility on the road and ease in riding during the longer rides. With the separate sections for both the rider and the pillion, the stepped seat and the elevated handlebar, the scooter provides a comfortable riding experience.
The ADV160 will likely attract customers who want a scooter that looks distinctive rather than a traditional 125cc or 160cc model.
27 Litre Under-Seat Storage
Practicality is one of the most important strengths of the Honda ADV160. It has a 27-litre under-seat storage, sufficient to accommodate everyday needs including backpacks, rain clothes, riding gloves, shopping bags or other things.
This storage will make the scooter useful to daily commuters. The big compartment will reduce the need for additional luggage accessories, such as a top box.
The maxi-scooter proportions of the ADV160 make it comfortable to ride as well as easy to park in the cities. In addition to that, the floorboard space provides enough room to sit comfortably even during long journeys.
The Honda will likely provide additional accessories to help customers improve touring capabilities of their scooters. It might include a rear carrier, top box, protection parts and additional wind protection.
Connected Features and Navigation
The ADV160 gets a TFT instrument console with Honda RoadSync smartphone connectivity. The system allows for turn-by-turn navigation and accessing the navigation routes while driving.
The RoadSync connectivity will also allow for using other smartphone capabilities depending on the application and device compatibility. The TFT display makes the scooter look premium compared to the scooters with standard LCD display.
The turn-by-turn navigation can be very convenient for the urban riders who have to travel to unknown places. Besides, it can make the weekend rides easier.
The digital display should display information like speed, fuel level, riding statistics and navigation instructions. The Honda will probably disclose other display functions close to the delivery period.
Safety Equipment
Brakes on the Honda ADV160 are of disc variety on front and rear wheels of the vehicle. The scooter comes with single-channel ABS that reduces the chance of wheel lock up when the brakes are used heavily.
Honda Selectable Torque Control is also part of the ADV160’s equipment, which is meant to prevent the rear-wheel slippage in conditions of poor road grip.
With disc brakes on both ends, anti-lock brake system and torque control system, the Honda ADV160 comes equipped with all necessary elements that help to increase safety of the vehicle in a segment like this. All these devices will be handy for monsoon riding, dusty roads and acceleration on rough terrain.
But there is no dual-channel ABS in the package. And this is a natural thing for scooters of 150-160 cc category according to their specifications and pricing position.
Price and Competitors
Selling price of the Honda ADV160 makes it the most expensive scooter in Indian market with price tag of ₹1.70 lakh ex-showroom Bengaluru. The ADV160 will compete with such models as Yamaha Aerox and Hero Xoom 160.
What will make Honda ADV160 stand out among other scooters will be its compatibility with E85, adventure-themed styling, liquid-cooling, TFT display, navigational and traction control systems. The main challenge that the model will have to face is to convince consumers to pay more than the cost of the conventional scooters with equal engine capacity.
The ADV160 will be available only at RedWing and BigWing Honda dealerships. Booking of the scooter is possible for ₹5,000, while first deliveries will take place starting mid-October 2026.
With its distinctive design, 27-litre luggage space, connectivity technology and E85-compatible powertrain, the Honda ADV160 offers a unique blend of practicality and technological features for Indian premium scooter market.
