Kia India has achieved its highest ever monthly wholesale numbers by selling 33,462 units in October 2026.
This is a 13.22% increase over October 2025 (29,556 units) and a new high, beating it previous monthly high of 32,017 units in September 2026.
Strong October Month
Demand during the festive period, excellent sales of existing SUVs and increased acceptance of newer products have allowed Kia to increase its total number of units dispatched by 1,445 units compared to September 2026. This represents a 4.51% increase month-on-month.
The 33,462 units is impressive as Kia were able to achieve this figure through a strong range of products. Both the Seltos, Sonet, Carens range, Sorento and growing EV range all contributed to the total sales.
Seltos Dominates
The second generation Seltos was Kia’s top seller in October, with sales exceeding 13,000 units. This made up around 39% of total October units.
Since the new Seltos launched in January 2026, the SUV has had an average of over 10,000 units per month. This proves that in India, Kia’s mid sized SUV is one of their best selling products.
The Seltos has performed well in one of the most competitive segments in India. Competing against some of the largest names including the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun. Suggesting that customers are still enjoying the looks, features and powertrain options on offer.

Sonet, Carens and Sorento Continue Contributions
The Sonet remained Kia’s second top seller in October. While we don’t know the exact number of units sold, Kia confirmed that it continues to have a strong hold in its segment.
Contributions were also made by the Carens and Carens Clavis. The CNG versions alone made up almost 10% of Kia’s total sales in October. Proving that more customers are looking at CNG as a viable option due to its low running costs.
Kia’s new Sorento has also performed well. Customers are loving the tech, features and fuel economy that the hybrid powertrain offers them. Giving Kia a premium 3-row option in its India range.

Highest EV Sales Ever
October was a milestone month for Kia as they achieved their highest ever EV sales. Increasing sales by 31% compared to September 2026.
Both Syros EV and Carens Clavis EV contributed to this increase. Proving that Kia’s EV strategy is starting to pay off. They’re no longer focussing solely on their premium EV6.
Sales of EVs are increasing, which is impressive when combined with the increase in CNG. Kia now offer vehicles with petrol, diesel, CNG, Hybrid and EV powertrains. Giving customers more choice depending on their budget, use and charging availability.
Calendar Year Sales Already Exceeded
From January to October 2026 Kia sold 286,470 units. This represents an increase of 21.31% compared to the same period in 2025. Meaning they’ve already exceeded their total sales in calendar year 2025 (280,286 units).
Kia have already exceeded their total sales in 2025 by 6,184 units in just 10 months. They’ve averaged around 28,647 units per month in 2026, proving their increase in scale.
This has helped them improve their standing amongst India’s top passenger vehicle manufacturers. In October Kia sold more than Toyota (30,360 units) to rank 5th.
Festive Sentiment, Strong Existing Models and Positive Reaction to New Models
Kia explained that the record breaking figures were due to the positive festive period sentiment, strong existing models and positive reaction to new models. They added that their multi powertrain strategy is now paying off.
Kia have grown their network significantly. They now have 925 points of sale and service across 438 cities in India. Helping customers across the larger metro areas and smaller areas.
This has become more important as Kia are moving away from being a pure SUV manufacturer and now offer MPVs, CNG, hybrid and EVs. Having a larger network will help them convert demand into sales.
Future Months
Kia are looking strong going into the last 2 months of 2026. They have already sold 286,470 units and are averaging almost 28,650 units per month. They’ll easily exceed 3 lakh units for the calendar year.
They will need to keep up the momentum post festive period, however they have a great range of products and increasing EVs with strong Seltos sales.
Kia India have proven that they are no longer reliant on just 1 or 2 models in October 2026. While the Seltos remains their top seller, they have contributions from the Sonet, Carens range, Sorento, CNG and EV.
With their second consecutive month of highest ever sales and already exceeding their total sales of calendar year 2025 in just 10 months, Kia have proven that their multi powertrain, multi segment strategy is working in India.
