Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has posted a total sales figure of 30,360 units for October 2026. Of that, 29,521 were sold domestically with 839 being exported.

This means the manufacturer has now surpassed 3.25 lakh units for January to October 2026.

October 2026 Sales

Toyota performed well in October with 30,360 units being sold. Domestically it sent a whopping 29,521 units to customers in India while only exporting 839 units.

Compared to September 2026 where they sold a total of 28,218 units, the increase in total sales was 7.59%. In September, 25,027 were sold domestically while 3,191 were exported.

However, in October, there was a big drop in exports. From 3,191 in September to just 839 units being exported. This means the increase in sales was fully backed up by domestic sales.

Domestic Export Total

October 2026 29,521 839 30,360

September 2026 25,027 3,191 28,218

Jan-Oct 2026 299,140 26,134 325,274

Jan-Oct 2025 287,338 28,378 315,716

CY Sales Growth

From January to October 2026, Toyota sold 325,274 units which is an increase of 3% compared to the 315,716 units sold in the same period in 2025.

The main reason for the increase in sales was the large increase in domestic sales. Toyota had an increase of 4% in sales in India, selling 299,140 units.

However, exports dropped by 8% year-on-year to 26,134 units. This was down from 28,378 units in the same period last year. Despite this, the increase in sales for the calendar year was still positive thanks to strong domestic sales.

Reason Behind Toyota Sales Increase

Toyota has seen an increase in sales thanks to its wide range of SUV / MPV and hybrid cars. The Urban Cruiser Hyryder is now their top-selling car with 49,419 units sold between April and September 2026.

Next was the Innova Hycross with 32,604 units and the Innova Crysta with 21,630 units. The Fortuner also saw strong demand with 17,550 units sold.

Toyota added that the initial response to its new updated version of the Glanza has been good. The car is a key one for the brand in the premium hatchback segment and could help increase sales in the coming months.

Hybrids Continue to Pay Off

Toyota has really pushed hybrids into the Indian market with it hitting over 3 lakh cumulative sales of strong hybrids. Earlier in 2026 it hit the 3 lakh milestone. Customers are getting more receptive to the eco-friendly options.

With models like the Hyryder Hybrid, Innova Hycross Hybrid, and Camry Hybrid, Toyota has developed its own brand in the Indian market. While competitors are focusing on price, they have made hybrids a great option for people to move from petrol vehicles to full electric vehicles.

It looks like this has worked well. The Hyryder is selling very well and there continues to be strong demand for the hybrids in the MPV segment. Customers clearly value the fuel economy, smoothness and reliability that Toyota offers.

October Competitors

Toyota had a good month but there was fierce competition from Kia India. Kia India sold 33,462 units which put them in fifth place.

This is 3,102 units more than Toyota’s 30,360. This means the upcoming facelift of the Innova Hycross will be vital for Toyota to get back on track in the premium MPV segment.

The facelifted Innova Hycross will be launched on November 25th 2026. It will come with some design improvements and better features which will hopefully play a key role in boosting sales at the end of the year.

Final Thoughts for the Rest of 2026

Toyota start the last two months of 2026 on a high. They have already sold 299,140 units domestically so are near the 3 lakh figure. With the festive period, continued demand for SUV / MPVs and the launch of the updated Glanza we should see strong figures in November and December. The facelift of the Innova Hycross could even give an extra boost.

However, they will need to see more demand from exports. In October they only sold 839 units and had an 8% decrease in exports year-to-date.

Overall, Toyota have had a great month in October showing that their India strategy is working. They have hit 30,000 units in a single month and are now nearing 3 lakh for the calendar year thanks to strong demand for the Hyryder, Innova range and Fortuner along with the hybrid cars. Despite the drop in exports, they have had a 4% increase in domestic sales and overall 3% increase so are on a steady upwards trend. With the facelift of the Innova Hycross and updated Glanza, they are set to finish the year strongly.
