Norton, who are now part of the TVS Motor Company group, have revealed a new 454cc urban motorcycle in preparation for its global launch.
The motorcycle will be available to purchase from 2027 and doesn’t have an official name yet. It will be the smallest capacity in Norton’s current modern range, bringing the British brand down to a more accessible segment in comparison to its new Manx and Atlas models.
More Accessible
The new motorcycle features a 454cc liquid-cooled single cylinder engine with 45Nm of peak torque. We don’t know any specific details about the power, kerb weight, fuel tank volume, suspension travel or braking. However, the engine has been tuned for easy response at everyday speeds.
This is a huge step for Norton. The Manx and Atlas models helped set Norton up as a modern brand. This new bike brings it down to a more accessible market and will attract a larger range of riders. Including younger riders and new entry point riders looking to get into the premium market. It also means a product that can be used well in busy markets like India.
Engine and Frame
The single cylinder engine has a 454cc displacement with 45Nm of peak torque. Single cylinder engines will usually be lighter and easier to understand, therefore cheaper. They will also offer strong low and mid range torque.
The motorcycle has a new aluminium frame. The chassis has been designed to be agile and give confidence to the rider. An aluminium frame can help make the motorcycle light and strong. This will help a small urban bike be more stable on the road.
We don’t know what the suspension, wheel size, tyre or braking system will be. Which will be important to know how premium the bike will be. Whether it will be a premium roadster, sporty urban naked bike or a more versatile commuter.

Design and Ergonomics
Looking at the official image shows us the new Norton is quite compact. It also looks to have an upright riding position. This will make it very comfortable for daily commuting. It still looks to have a sporty feel as we would expect from a modern Norton. The bodywork looks to follow the new design trends seen across its latest range since being taken over by TVS.
The design looks to be a good balance between the classic British style and modern urban roadster. Although we don’t know what the official name of the bike will be, the design shows it will be a modern and premium motorcycle.

Big Screen
One of the standout features of this new motorcycle is the huge 8-inch TFT touch screen. This is a large display for a 450cc motorcycle. Giving it the edge over many competitors. The screen allows for connectivity.
Connectivity can include things like smartphone integration, navigation, phone and music controls, vehicle information, riding information and OTA updates. If Norton have a fully integrated system then this could really appeal to tech savvy buyers.
New Range Expansion
This new 454cc motorcycle adds to the range first shown at EICMA 2025. Where we were first shown the Manx, Manx R, Atlas and Atlas GT. The Manx R and Atlas are already being delivered to customers in Europe. With the Manx and Atlas GT due to arrive later.
The Manx R has also won the Red Dot: Best of the Best award at the 2026 Red Dot Award: Design Concept. Showing how much focus has gone into the design and development of the brand since being taken over by TVS. This new 450cc bike will follow that design trend.
Developed Globally with Indian Influence
The motorcycle has been developed using Norton’s engineering centres located in the UK, Italy and India. Norton’s Solihull site deal with design and development of motorcycles. With the global engineering centre located in Italy for TVS Motor and the research and development head quarters located in India.
This is important for Indian buyers. As it has been developed using TVS R&D in India. This 450cc Norton would be perfect for Indian roads and the market. As India is one of the markets that will be part of the next stage of its retail expansion. This could mean this motorcycle will eventually be available to buy in India (although it’s not been confirmed).
Expanding Retail
Norton are expanding their retail outlets. They now have over 50 retail outlets in 10 different markets including the UK, Italy, France, Germany and Spain. They have also created a new store concept in partnership with Foster + Partners.
Having a strong dealer network will be key for Norton. Premium motorcycles need good after-sales, parts and technicians. Adding smaller and more affordable motorcycles like this 454cc will help them reach more customers around the world.
Competition
If this 450cc urban motorcycle does come to India it will compete within the premium single cylinder roadster market. With bikes in the 400-500cc range. Competitors could include Royal Enfield, Triumph, KTM, Husqvarna and others.
With the 45Nm of torque, aluminium frame, big screen and Norton branding it could stand out. However, price will play a big factor. If it’s a premium product then it will appeal to enthusiasts wanting something exclusive. However, if TVS use the shared engineering and local production then it could be more of a competitive option in India.
Expectations
At the global launch Norton will officially reveal the motorcycle. We will then get more information about the name, power, weight, features and price. Sales will start in 2027.
This 454cc urban motorcycle is a clear sign that Norton has bigger plans under TVS. Entering the 450cc range means they’re moving away from large-capacity flagship motorcycles and creating a full range. This will help them compete in multiple markets and customer segments.
