The new concept bike is a hint at Hero’s future premium offering, with the new model having Dakar rally vibes with retro scrambler styling.

Hero have yet to confirm if it will be made, when it will be launched, or any specifications.

Premium Vibe

Hero are celebrating 25 years of being the worlds biggest two-wheel manufacturer, but they did not bring a production model to Milan. Instead Hero brought this concept model to show off some of their early design and engineering ideas.

The Scrambler Concept draws inspiration from the knowledge Hero MotoSports Team Rally have gained from competing in Dakar, however this isn’t just a road version of the Xpulse 450. It takes some of the rally vibes from the Xpulse to give this model some retro styling, a more premium feel and has the signature scrambler look.

There are no specifics on the engine, gearbox, suspension travel, braking or electronics. Due to this we can consider this as a design concept.

Front

The front of the Scrambler Concept has quite a tall look. The round headlight has an H shape LED design to it. Above it there is a small smoked screen.

The wide handlebar has red bars on either side to add to its off-road and rally vibe. There is a high red front mudguard, long fork guards and a gold spoked wheel.

It also has block pattern tyres to enhance the idea it can handle both pavement and off-road.

Tank and Dashboard

One of the standout features of the Scrambler Concept is the tank. This has bright red panels on either side, some stripey graphics and a black top section that goes up towards the dashboard.

Above the tank there is a metallic tray that looks like a mini tool box. This adds a more practical look to the Scrambler Concept.

Behind the screen there is a round dash. Despite having the tool box and screen, the dashboard is still quite compact.

Side and Chassis

Looking at the side of the Scrambler Concept you can see a black lattice style chassis, large radiator and lots of engine protection. This gives it a very rugged look.

There are silver side panels and a brown segmented seat to contrast the red tank. The segmented centre section and short rear section, plus gold spoked wheels make the Scrambler Concept look clean.

To add to the idea it can be ridden on mixed terrain there are block pattern tyres. Overall it looks more like a scrambler than the Xpulse 450 which is more of an adventure bike.

Rear

The Scrambler Concept has a high rear section. It has a small round light and minimal mudguards. This gives it a very light rear section to enhance the off-road look.

There is a large exhaust that sits low on the right-hand side. It has a rise section closer to the rear wheel. At the rear you can see the disc brake. However Hero have not specified what size it is.

The small rear section and exposed rear help to give it a very agile look. It doesn’t have too much bodywork.

Inspired by Dakar

Hero say that it takes inspiration from Hero MotoSports Team Rally and has taken influences from their Dakar racing. This can be seen with the high mudguards, spoked wheels, block pattern tyres, handlebar bars and engine protection.

However it doesn’t really follow on from the Xpulse 450. The round headlight, segmented seat, exposed chassis, tool box on the tank and more premium look give it its own identity.

By combining these Dakar influences to give more ruggedness with the retro scrambler styling, Hero can target customers looking for more of an adventurous bike but with more of a stylish look.

What We Don’t Know

Hero have not confirmed if this will go into production. They have also not told us when it will be launched, what price we can expect, engine size, power, gearbox, suspension or electronics.

As it is a concept bike we wouldn’t expect to have any specifics. We can consider this as a hint at Hero’s future designs.

However the amount of detail makes me think they are seriously considering making a premium scrambler styled bike. The polished look, colour scheme and aggressive look shows this is not just a basic styling exercise.

What It Means For India

If Hero do decide to go ahead with this bike it could open up a whole new premium segment. Having a scrambler styled bike would compliment or surpass the Xpulse range. Customers wanting a retro bike that can easily be used for daily use and some light off-roading.

The Dakar link could also help Hero develop more of a premium brand. They have relied on commuter bikes and the Xpulse range so far but with this direction they could compete with brands offering stylish middleweight scramblers and roadsters.

Customers in India will be most concerned about the engine size, price, weight and how practical it would be. If they wanted this to be successful they would have to ensure it has a great balance between performance, comfort and price.

The Scrambler Concept is one of the most interesting bikes Hero have shown at EICMA 2026. It has the Dakar ruggedness with retro styling. It also has gold spoked wheels, block pattern tyres and a more premium look to give it its own identity.

Although Hero haven’t confirmed it will go into production, it shows they are looking to move away from their typical commuter bikes and Xpulse range. If it does make it into showrooms in a similar spec it could be a key step in their premium strategy.
