India’s First AI-Powered SUV With Perplexity, NVIDIA Power & 70+ Smart Features
Hyundai Motor India has announced the India-spec Hyundai BAYON, as an “Intelligent Utility Vehicle” based on the philosophy of “Intelligence That Moves.” The SUV will be launched in India on October 26, 2026, with bookings now open at Hyundai dealerships and on Hyundai’s official website for Rs. 11,000.
The BAYON provides Hyundai’s first Generative AI Voice Assistant with Perplexity and SoundHound AI, connected car navigation cockpit with NVIDIA acceleration, over-the-air updates and more than 70 Bluelink connected features. With a 1.5-litre petrol engine, dual 12.3-inch curved displays and support for multiple Indian languages, the BAYON could be one of the most tech-focused SUVs of its segment.
Launch, Bookings and Deliveries
Hyundai will officially launch the BAYON in India on October 26, 2026. Customers can book the SUV online on hyundai.co.in and at any authorised Hyundai dealership by paying Rs. 11,000.
Hyundai has not confirmed the delivery schedule yet. Deliveries are expected to commence during the festive season.
Generative AI Voice Assistant: The Biggest Highlight
Hyundai BAYON’s biggest highlight would its Generative AI Voice Assistant.
BAYON uses Intelligence by Perplexity and Voice AI by SoundHound AI to let drivers talk to the SUV, freeing them from having to rely on fixed commands.

For example, a driver could ask the system to:
Prepare a travel itinerary for a road trip
Check real-time weather updates
Find hotels at a destination
Recommend restaurants nearby
Suggest the top shopping destinations in an area
Provide sports scores and updates
Answer general questions during a journey
Unlike conventional voice assistants, the BAYON’s AI system is designed to understand conversational requests. This means drivers can interact with the SUV more naturally, with the cabin feeling smarter and more intuitive.
The AI assistant can currently be used in English only. Hyundai has also clarified that AI-generated responses are for information and convenience and should not replace human judgment.
NVIDIA-Powered Digital Cockpit
The BAYON gets Hyundai’s Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), accelerated by NVIDIA technology. This system brings together powerful graphics, connected services and intuitive controls in a modern digital environment. Some of its key features include:
Online onboard navigation
Quick and personalised control panel
Split-screen functionality
Smartphone-like quick controls
Smooth, high-resolution graphics

Integrated access to frequently used functions
The ccNC system is designed to make the cabin feel more like a smart device than a traditional car interface. Drivers can access navigation, media, vehicle settings and connected services with fewer steps.
Dual 12.3-Inch Curved Displays
Inside, the Hyundai BAYON features dual 62.5 cm curved panoramic displays, with each measuring 12.3 inches.
The dual-screen setup brings a premium and futuristic feel to the cabin, with driving information and entertainment brought together into a single, unified interface.
Hyundai also provides individual user profiles, so drivers can personalise the settings and frequently used controls.
Over-the-Air Updates: A Future-Ready SUV
The BAYON can support up to 19 controllers, with the Vehicle Controller Over-the-Air (C-OTA) updates enabling Hyundai to improve software and add features to the SUV remotely.
Owners will not always have to visit a dealership for software improvements. OTA updates can provide new features and improve the SUV as technology evolves.
This software-defined approach is a major step forward for Hyundai in India, and could make the BAYON more future-ready than many of its rivals.
Hyundai Bluelink: More than 70 Connected Features
The BAYON will come with Hyundai Bluelink, offering more than 70 connected features. Some of the key highlights include:
Remote start and stop
Remote vehicle controls
Connected vehicle information
Smartphone and smartwatch connectivity
Location and navigation services

Safety and security features
With Bluelink, owners can stay connected to their SUV even when they are away from it. They can check the vehicle’s status, control certain functions remotely and access navigation-related services through their smartphone or smartwatch.
Made for India: Multi-Language Support
Hyundai has designed the BAYON for India’s diverse customer base. The infotainment and instrument cluster support 10 regional and 2 international languages.
The SUV also has more than 500 embedded voice commands in:
English, Hindi, Hinglish, Tamil, Bengali, Telugu
Importantly, many of the voice commands work without an internet connection. This allows faster responses for common functions such as climate control, media, navigation and vehicle settings.
Engine, Transmission & Performance
Despite its high-tech focus, the Hyundai BAYON uses a familiar and proven powertrain. It gets a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder MPi petrol engine that produces:
115 PS (84.4 kW)
144 Nm (14.7 kgm)
Buyers can choose between:
6-speed manual transmission (6MT)
Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT)
The 1.5-litre petrol engine is expected to deliver smooth and refined performance for daily commuting and highway driving. The IVT option should appeal to buyers looking for convenience in city traffic, while the manual will cater to driving enthusiasts.
What Makes BAYON Different?
Hyundai BAYON is able to stand out thanks to the combination of its intelligent technology with everyday practicality. Instead of making AI and connectivity optional, Hyundai has made them the core of the SUV’s identity.
Some of its key strengths include:
India’s first Hyundai with a Generative AI Voice Assistant
Connected car navigation cockpit with NVIDIA acceleration
Dual 12.3-inch curved panoramic displays
Up to 19 OTA-enabled controllers
More than 70 Bluelink connected features
Multi-language interface for Indian users
Proven 1.5-litre petrol engine with MT and IVT options
