Maruti Suzuki has launched the new Brezza in a more performance-focused avatar, headlined by the Turbo Boosterjet variant and joined by updated K15C petrol and S-CNG options. The new range is priced from Rs 7,39,900 for the Turbo Boosterjet, while the broader Brezza lineup continues to offer multiple variants to suit different buyer needs.
What is new
The biggest change in the new Brezza is the addition of the 1.0-litre Turbo Boosterjet petrol engine with Progressive Smart Hybrid Technology. It produces 81 kW (110.2 PS) and 170 Nm, and comes paired with a 6-speed manual transmission only. Maruti Suzuki says this version is aimed at buyers who want a more energetic and youthful driving experience.
Alongside the turbo variant, the familiar 1.5-litre K15C Dual Jet Dual VVT petrol engine continues with Progressive Smart Hybrid Technology. This engine makes 75.8 kW (103.05 PS) and 139 Nm, and is now offered with a new 6-speed manual transmission as well as a 6-speed automatic with steering-mounted paddle shifters.
The S-CNG version also returns with a major practical upgrade: an underbody CNG tank layout that frees up boot space, improving usability for everyday buyers. It also gets Idle Start-Stop technology and a 6-speed manual gearbox, with Maruti quoting 26.9 km/kg fuel efficiency for the CNG model.
Variant-wise focus
The new Brezza has been developed around different customer personalities, and Maruti Suzuki has positioned the trims accordingly. The Turbo Boosterjet is pitched as the sporty, enthusiastic choice for younger customers who want stronger acceleration and a more engaging drive.
The K15C petrol variants are the balanced option for customers who want refinement, ease of use and fuel efficiency for city and highway driving. With both manual and automatic choices now available, this version is the most versatile in the range.
The S-CNG variant remains the practical pick for value-driven buyers who want low running costs without sacrificing the SUV experience. The new tank placement is important because it solves one of the biggest concerns in factory-CNG SUVs: reduced luggage space.
Design and cabin changes
The new Brezza gets a bolder exterior with a Smoke Chrome grille, metallic grey bull bar design, refreshed skid plate styling, and updated dual-tone side cladding. Maruti has also added new precision-cut alloy wheels and exclusive Turbo Boosterjet badging to make the performance variant stand out visually.
Inside, the SUV now comes with a dual-tone dark brown and black cabin theme, metallic soft-touch details, gloss black accents and plush leatherette seats. The feature list has been expanded with ventilated front seats, PM2.5 filter with Autopurify and AQI display, and a wireless smartphone charger with active cooling.
The infotainment package is another highlight. The new SmartPlay Pro X system gets a 25.65 cm (10.1-inch) touchscreen, built-in connectivity, 35+ internet apps, OTA updates, built-in Alexa voice assistant, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support.
Safety package
Safety has been strengthened too, with Maruti Suzuki stating that the new Brezza is built for a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating for the petrol variant. New active safety features include Blind Spot Warning with Lane Change Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, TPMS, Emergency Stop Signal, and Exit Support Warning.
The SUV also gets an improved 360 View Camera with three new views, along with front and rear parking sensors to make daily driving easier in tight spaces. These changes make the Brezza feel much more complete than before, especially for family buyers.
