JSW MG Motor India has announced that they have increased the prices of two key models in their range namely the Windsor EV and flagship Majestor SUV.

This price increase takes effect from November 2026. The Windsor EV has seen a consistent price increase of ₹15,000 across all variants whilst the Majestor has received a significant price increase of ₹1 Lakh on all variants. This means the bestselling electric MPV for MG is now slightly more expensive whilst the premium diesel SUV has moved closer to the ₹43-46 Lakh price range.

New Windsor EV Prices

The new prices for the MG Windsor EV are now starting from ₹14.85 Lakh (ex-showroom) up to ₹19.15 Lakh (ex-showroom). All variants have received the same increase of ₹15,000. These include:

Variant New Price (Ex Showroom) Increase

Windsor EV Excite ₹14.85 Lakh ₹15,000

Windsor EV Exclusive ₹16.15 Lakh ₹15,000

Windsor EV Essence ₹17.15 Lakh ₹15,000

Windsor Pro Exclusive ₹18.05 Lakh ₹15,000

Windsor Pro Essence ₹19.15 Lakh ₹15,000

The newly released MG Windsor EV Indulge Edition has not been included in this price increase. This remains at ₹18 Lakh (ex-showroom).

What Is The MG Windsor EV?

The MG Windsor EV is one of the most important vehicles for MG in India. It is a large electric MPV-style crossover and has proven to be a popular choice for MG thanks to its practical interior and feature-packed design.

The standard variants have a smaller battery pack whilst the Windsor Pro variants have a larger 52.9 kWh battery. This also includes a different interior package along with ADAS functions, meaning it is the premium option.

The MG Windsor EV has a claimed maximum range of 449km. This figure will vary depending on your driving conditions.

Battery As A Service

The car is also available with MG’s Battery as a Service. This means you pay less upfront for the car, but pay for the battery. The base price starts from ₹9.99 Lakh with a Battery rental price of ₹3.99 per km.

The car can prove incredibly cheap to purchase, which has made it an attractive choice for budget EV buyers. However, it is important to work out what it will cost over time. If you are a high mileage driver, you may find that the price of the battery rental over time can cause you to lose the benefit.

MG Majestor Price Increase

All variants of the MG Majestor have received a consistent increase of ₹1 Lakh. This means the price of the SUV is now between ₹43.49 Lakh and ₹45.99 Lakh (ex-showroom).

Variant New Price (Ex Showroom) Increase

Savvy 4X2 6 Seater ₹43.49 Lakh ₹1 Lakh

Savvy 4X2 7 Seater ₹43.49 Lakh ₹1 Lakh

Savvy 4X4 7 Seater ₹45.99 Lakh ₹1 Lakh

It is the second price increase of the vehicle in just 3 months. The 2WD variants received an increase of up to ₹1.50 Lakh back in August 2026. All variants including the 4X4 have now received the ₹1 Lakh price increase.

Increased Price

The MG Majestor was launched back in May 2026 with a starting price of ₹40.99 Lakh (ex-showroom). It has now received two price increases in a short space of time. The entry level price now costs ₹2.50 Lakh more than when it was first launched.

This is quite a significant change. The Majestor now firmly resides in the premium full size SUV segment and will compete against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner. This could mean that the price may affect the value for money of the car, especially as it is now competing against competitors with similar diesel powertrain and 4WD.

Reason For Price Increases

MG has not officially stated why they have increased the price of these vehicles, but price increases are often due to increased costs, currency, components and to ensure margins are maintained. The fact that it is the beginning of November means that these new prices will be in place for the rest of the month and potentially beyond.

The price increase on the Windsor EV is quite small. An increase of ₹15,000 on a vehicle costing between ₹15-19 Lakh will not cause much of a difference. As long as MG continue to provide great features, space and BaaS then it will not cause too many issues.

The Majestor has had a larger price increase. An increase of ₹1 Lakh on a vehicle that already costs more than ₹42 Lakh will definitely cause a noticeable difference. The total increase of ₹2.50 Lakh could cause some to question whether they should purchase the vehicle yet.

What Does This Mean For Buyers?

The increase in price means that the MG Windsor EV now starts from ₹14.85 Lakh (ex-showroom). If you plan on purchasing the vehicle in November then make sure to check with your dealership for the final on-the-road price. This will vary dependent on the registration, insurance, state tax and optional extras.

The MG Majestor now has an increased price for all variants. The 4X2 6 Seater and 7 Seater now cost ₹43.49 Lakh and the 4X4 7 Seater costs ₹45.99 Lakh (ex-showroom).

What Does This Mean For MG?

The price increase for the MG Windsor EV shows that they are confident in the demand for the vehicle. Despite being one of the most popular EVs in India, they have decided to increase the price again showing they are expecting high demand.

The increase on the Majestor is much higher. This could be due to MG wanting to increase their margins on their flagship vehicle due to increased costs or high demand for premium diesel SUVs. However, seeing the price increase twice within 3 months could make it less competitive with other manufacturers keeping prices the same or even lowering them.

Overall, the price increase in November 2026 means both cars are more expensive. The MG Windsor EV is slightly more expensive and the MG Majestor is much more expensive. If you are looking to purchase either vehicle, make sure to check what deals are on offer at dealer level.
