The Flying Flea Scrambler has been unveiled by Royal Enfield.
Based on the same light framework as the new C6, the S6 is set to launch in India and globally early next year.
The S6 Scrambler
The Flying Flea S6 is the ‘unrefined’ offering in the Flying Flea’s line-up of light electric bikes. Whilst sharing the same base framework as the C6, it features more rugged and unrefined kit.
Combining the look of a scrambler with electric tech, the S6 has a high front mudguard with chunky enduro seat, wire spoked wheels and block pattern tyres.
It will be available in two colours; Dart Yellow and Lightning Grey. With vibrant yellow accents on the tank, seat, wheel rims and mudguard it has a unique and young aesthetic.
Design
The S6 features a chunky front wheel with wire spokes and a smaller rear wire spoked wheel. With block pattern tyres, this gives it the rugged feel needed for unpaved surfaces.
The gold coloured upside down front forks sit below the chunky front yellow mudguard providing a premium look. The chunky seat is long and almost flat towards the rear of the bike.
The blue frame is exposed on the centre of the bike to give it a more technical look. The small sidepanels, exposed subframe and small rear bodywork all contribute to it looking narrow and light.
Battery and Motor
The centre of the S6 features a large battery box. The black battery has horizontal ribs.
The electric motor is low down in the chassis helping to keep the centre of gravity low. There is a chain final drive on the rear.
It appears Royal Enfield have focused more on making this a practical and easy to maintain electric bike. With the exposed components it has a more real scrambler feel.
The S6 features a round colour touchscreen. The dashboard uses the Royal Enfield Flying Flea OS.
It displays the key information needed whilst riding; speed, battery percentage, range left and more. The dashboard is very minimal on the handlebars.
The round dashboard adds to the retro feel of the bike. They haven’t gone for a large rectangular dashboard but instead have gone for a round dashboard.

Riding Modes
One of the key features of the Flying Flea S6 is the riding modes. This allows you to change the power delivery of the bike.
It also features an exclusive off-road mode. This mode will most likely optimise the torque, traction control and throttle response for riding on dirt roads, gravel and loose surfaces.
Royal Enfield have confirmed the S6 will feature several rider aids. Whilst they have not listed them all, it appears they are focussing on making this a capable electric scrambler.
The S6 features a round headlight with a small yellow cowling. This gives it a classic scrambler feel but keeps it looking modern.
The tall mirrors and upright handlebars give a comfortable commanding ride. This makes it ideal for commuting in cities and off road riding.
With the high front mudguard, long seat, wire spoked wheels and block pattern tyres it has a real scrambler feel from front to back. Everything has been put together cohesively.
What We Don’t Know
We do not know the exact specs of the S6. We don’t know how big the battery is, how powerful the motor is, how much torque it has, how far it can go, how fast it charges, how heavy it is, how much travel the suspension has or what brakes it has.
We also don’t know how much it will cost or the exact release date. However, it is set to launch early next year in India and globally. It will launch either alongside or shortly after the Flying Flea C6.
This means we should treat this as a concept bike close to production. However, there is a lot of detail shown meaning Royal Enfield are getting closer to making their electric bike dreams a reality.
What It Means For Royal Enfield
The Flying Flea S6 is an important product for Royal Enfield as it helps push their electric bike range further away from just city commuters. Focusing on the scrambler and off-road aesthetics, Royal Enfield are targeting riders who love adventure and versatility.
It could help Royal Enfield compete with new electric bike brands. With a retro look, modern tech and off-road capabilities it is unique within the electric two wheeler market.
If Royal Enfield price this competitively and give it a good range then it could become an interesting option for Indians. With the off-road mode and rugged look it could appeal to those wanting a more adventurous electric bike.
Overall
The Royal Enfield Flying Flea S6 is one of the most interesting electric bikes Royal Enfield have released. With the scrambler look, wire spoked wheels, block pattern tyres, long seat and off-road mode it looks ready for city riding and light trail riding.
With the round dashboard using the Fleaware.OS, riding modes and exposed battery and motor it shows Royal Enfield are thinking about their electric mobility offerings. If it does launch early next year as expected then it could mark an important step in Royal Enfield moving into electric bikes.
