Mahindra BE-07

After making steady progress towards production stage, the BE 07 is set to be unveiled soon as the second EV in the Mahindra born-electric lineup after the sporty BE 06 which debuted at last year’s Auto Expo. From the latest spy shots, it’s apparent that the BE 07 is more of a conventional, upright electric SUV focused on practicality and tech.

Design: Upright Body with Loads of Space

The most notable visual difference between the BE 07 and BE 06 is the body style. The BE 07 comes with a more upright body compared to the sloped-roof design of the BE 06. This results in greater comfort for the rear occupants as well as more room inside the cabin.

Spy photos also show that the BE 07 is set to have frameless doors, motorised flush-fitting door handles, large aerodynamic alloy wheels and roof-mounted rear spoiler. The rear end comes with a clamshell-style rear door with an integrated wiper and large rear quarter glass for better visibility.

Triple-Screen Dashboard with Technology Galore
The BE 07 is set to be loaded with technology with a triple-screen dashboard. These include:

12.3-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver

12.3-inch central infotainment touchscreen

12.3-inch passenger-side entertainment screen

The absence of floor space underneath is thanks to the floating centre console. No physical buttons on the centre console- everything will be controlled through the touchscreen interface or voice commands.

Feature List: All for the Luxury Segment

From the available information, the following features are expected to be available in the BE 07 electric SUV:

Fixed panoramic glass roof

Powered and ventilated front seats with memory function

Dual-zone climate control

Multi-colour ambient lighting

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

Two wireless charging pads

16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system

Connected car functionality including over-the-air updates

In terms of safety and advanced driving assistance, the BE 07 will have:

Head-up display (HUD)

360-degree camera

Level 2 adaptive driving assistance system (ADAS) comprising of adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and autonomous emergency braking

Six airbags as standard

Powertrain and Range: Same as BE 06

Underneath, the BE 07 has the same INGLO platform that the BE 06, XEV 9e, and XEV 9S share. Expect the same two battery packs in the range:

59 kWh LFP battery pack

79 kWh LFP battery pack

While rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations will likely both be offered, the RWD variant is rumored to output up to 281 bhp, and the AWD variant to hit close to 388 bhp.

Range specs have yet to be confirmed by the company but should exceed 500 km in the real world for the bigger battery. Charging up to 175 kW should be supported by the vehicle.

Positioning and Pricing

The BE 07 will be positioned higher than the BE 06 in Mahindra’s born-electric lineup. At the moment, market estimates put the price at ₹25-30 lakh ex-showroom depending on configuration.

That makes it a competitor of the Tata Harrier EV, VinFast VF7, and possibly the future facelifted Hyundai Ioniq 5.

Launch Date

The official launch of the BE 07 is expected to happen on August 15, 2026, along with the unveiling of the compact SUV based on the Vision S concept. Actual deliveries should start in 2027.

Why the BE 07?

It’s clear that Mahindra understands that not everyone needs an SUV that looks like a coupe. Some customers prioritize roominess, comfort, and utility. That is why the BE 07 is here.

Mahindra BE 07 appears to be the less sporty, more family-friendly alternative to the BE 06. With its boxy body, spacious interior, advanced tech package with three screens, and luxurious equipment, it’s clearly made for everyday use cases.

Depending on the price point, the BE 07 can become a serious competitor in the premium segment of electric SUVs. But until the August 15 showcase, it remains to be seen.
