Mercedes-Benz India has revealed that bookings for the all-new GLC Electric will start in the first week of October 2026 and the locally assembled SUV will launch by end-2026. This will be the first-ever electric GLC and one of the fastest India launches of a global Mercedes model, coming just about six months after its global debut.
Powertrain and performance: 400 4MATIC with 94 kWh battery
Mercedes has confirmed a single drivetrain at launch for India: the GLC 400 4MATIC.

Charging: 800V architecture, up to 330 kW DC fast charging
The GLC Electric is built on an 800-volt electrical architecture that allows for very high charging speeds.
Maximum DC fast charging: up to 330 kW
10–80% charge time: Around 22 minutes on a compatible 330 kW charger
AC charging: 11 kW standard, with 22 kW optional in some markets
This means that on a suitable highway fast charger, a 10-minute top-up can add roughly 250–300 km of range, making inter-city travel feasible for early adopters who plan routes around high-power charging points.

Design and dimensions: Familiar GLC look, but bigger inside
Externally, the GLC Electric retains the familiar ICE GLC design language to ensure instant brand recognition.

While Mercedes has not announced official India prices yet, industry estimates place the GLC Electric in the ₹75–85 lakh (ex-showroom) range for the GLC 400 4MATIC. Some early listings suggest a broader band of ₹60–70 lakh, but given the specification and positioning, the final on-road price in metros could approach or exceed ₹1 crore for top variants.
