Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has revealed the first design sketches of the upcoming Hyundai BAYON. Enthusiasts get an early look at the car’s exterior design and technology-focused cabin.
Heralded as an Intelligent Utility Vehicle, the design sketches show off the company’s latest Art of Steel design philosophy of sculpted surfaces, architectural shapes, sharp character lines and confident proportions.
The front-end sketch shows a bold and sporty SUV stance, with the sculpted bonnet, pronounced fenders and muscular body volumes. The car also features Hyundai’s signature H-Edge lighting signature, adding to its futuristic and instantly recognisable appearance.

The sharp lighting elements seem to run across the front fascia while the prominent bonnet lines add definition to the SUV’s face. The robust lower-body detailing also adds to its rugged character. This suggests the BAYON will provide an urban sophistication with a more capable SUV-inspired look.
Hyundai says the design has been made to provide an authentic SUV presence, but one that is also fit for purpose in the day-to-day ebb and flow of the city. The design is expected to appeal to younger buyers who want a vehicle that is practical, modern and visually distinctive.
The BAYON’s interior preview shows a modern and technology-focused layout, with a focus on intuitive controls, sophisticated design and seamless connect.
The interior sketch shows a contemporary dashboard with a prominent screen, and a clean, driver-focused design. Hyundai says the cabin has been designed for the tech-savvy customer, with technology and premium in-cabin experience.
Hyundai has dubbed the cabin as a high-tech environment encased in a tough exterior. While the company has not yet revealed the full feature list, the sketch suggests the BAYON could offer a strong focus on digital displays, connect and intelligent convenience features.
The final India-specification cabin may differ slightly from the sketch, particularly in terms of layout and equipment. Hyundai is expected to share more details closer to the SUV’s launch.

Designed for Urban Lifestyles
The Hyundai BAYON has been designed for customers who spend most of their time driving in the urban environment, but want the confidence and emotional appeal associated with SUVs.

Hyundai’s design team has focused on creating a car that offers a commanding road presence, but without being too difficult to drive in busy city conditions. Its compact proportions, bold styling and intelligent cabin are expected to make it suitable for everyday commuting, weekend travel and changing urban lifestyles.
Simon Loasby, Senior Vice President and Head of the Hyundai Design Center, Hyundai Motor Company said they wanted the BAYON to generate a confident first impression in India. They added that the model combines intelligent technology and thoughtful design, to create a car with a high-tech cabin and a tough exterior.
