TVS Motor Company has added to the range of its flagship Apache motorcycles with the launch of new Black Diamond Editions of the Apache RTR 310 and Apache RR 310.
The new editions were launched ahead of the festive season and include an exclusive all-black appearance for both motorcycles.
The Apache RTR 310 Black Diamond Edition is priced at Rs 2,48,990 and the Apache RR 310 Black Diamond Edition is priced at Rs 2,87,790, both ex-showroom Delhi. New Black Diamond editions are available at dealerships across India.
New Black Diamond Editions
The Black Diamond treatment is offered with the top-spec versions of both motorcycles. These variants come with a quickshifter and an all-black finish that aims to make the bikes look more aggressive and premium.
The new colour scheme gives the Apache RTR 310 a sharper streetfighter appearance. Its muscular fuel tank, exposed mechanical elements and compact bodywork seem to be more prominent with the darker finish.
The Apache RR 310, however, carries the same black treatment over its fully faired supersport body. The motorcycle’s aerodynamic fairing, sharp front profile and split-style design elements contribute to a more stealthy visual appeal in the new edition.
TVS has not announced any major mechanical changes for the Black Diamond versions. So the new editions are mainly focused on styling and additional equipment in the case of the Apache RR 310.

Apache RR 310 Gets Keyless Ride
One of the biggest updates accompanying the launch is the introduction of Keyless Ride technology on the Apache RR 310. This feature was already available on the Apache RTR 310 and has now been added to the fully faired motorcycle.
Keyless Ride is designed to improve everyday convenience by allowing the rider to operate the motorcycle without using a key in the usual way. The feature adds to the premier equipment list of the Apache RR 310 and makes it closer to the RTR 310 in terms of convenience features.
The addition is expected to be useful for riders who use the motorcycle regularly for commuting, touring and weekend rides. It also strengthens the technology-focused positioning of the Apache RR 310 in the premium motorcycle segment.
Performance and Engine
The Black Diamond Editions continue with the existing mechanical setup of the Apache RTR 310 and Apache RR 310. Both motorcycles are powered by a 312.2 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine.
The engine is coupled with a six-speed gearbox and is available with a quickshifter on the top-spec Black Diamond variants. The powertrain is shared by both motorcycles, although their riding characteristics differ due to their distinct designs and riding positions.
The Apache RTR 310 is designed as a street-focused naked motorcycle. It offers an upright riding position and a muscular body making it suitable for city use as well as spirited weekend riding.
The Apache RR 310 gets a fully faired design and a more committed riding posture. Its aerodynamic bodywork and sportier riding character make it more suitable for highway riding, cornering and long-distance performance-oriented use.

Advanced Electronic Features
TVS continues to offer a comprehensive suite of electronic rider aids with the Apache 310 range. Based on the variant and configuration, the technology package includes Race Tuned Dynamic Stability Control or RT-DSC.
This system is designed to manage several electronic functions and improve rider control in different riding conditions. The motorcycles also feature cornering ABS and cornering traction control, which are particularly useful when the bike is being ridden through corners or on surfaces with changing grip levels.
Other available electronic features include cruise control, launch control and drag torque control. Cruise control can make longer highway rides more comfortable, while launch control is aimed at improving acceleration from a standstill.
Drag torque control helps manage rear-wheel behaviour during aggressive downshifts. Together these features give the Apache RTR 310 and RR 310 a technology package that is more advanced than what is usually available on many motorcycles in this price range.
Price and Positioning
The new Black Diamond Editions are positioned at the top of the Apache RTR 310 and Apache RR 310 line-ups. Their prices are higher than the entry-level versions as they are based on the top-spec variants with a quickshifter.
