Kia Carens and Carens Clavis CNG: What Makes Them Special?
The CNG system has been designed to integrate with the vehicles’ existing powertrain and packaging. Both models feature a 60-litre CNG tank alongside the petrol fuel system, providing a dual-fuel configuration.
Despite the addition of the CNG system, Kia has retained space for the spare tyre, ensuring that customers do not have to compromise on everyday practicality.
The CNG variants come with several CNG-specific features, including Distance to Empty (DTE) logic for CNG mode in the instrument cluster and a dedicated CNG fuel changeover switch. Both models also receive 16-inch front disc brakes and R16 wheels.

Based on the Smartstream G1.5 engine with a 6-speed manual transmission (6MT), the Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG produce 96 PS of power and 123 Nm of torque in CNG mode.
Kia has also made changes to the vehicles specifically for the CNG variants. These include CNG-specific engine calibration and modified suspension. A 4.2-inch colour TFT MID with CNG DTE logic provides additional information to the driver.
For improved passenger comfort, both models feature a modified third-row seat-back frame, which provides an improved recline angle for third-row occupants.
