Scorpio continues to be the best-selling vehicle from Mahindra

Mahindra’s Scorpio and Scorpio N range continued to lead the sales chart for the company, contributing 15,576 units in August. This marks an increase of 58.29 per cent YoY compared to 9,840 units sold in August 2025. Mahindra sold 15,576 units of its Scorpio range in August 2026, compared to 9,840 units in August 2025 and 16,009 units in July 2026.

The Scorpio range accounted for 26.29 per cent of the company’s overall domestic SUV sales in August. This implies that almost a quarter of all Mahindra SUVs sold in India in August belonged to the Scorpio family. The demand for this model has been aided by the launch of Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic.

Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic both offer a rugged design language, ample interior space, three-row layout and a powerful engine. The two SUVs also share body-on-frame architecture, and their engines make them popular with urban, semi-urban and rural buyers.

The SUV has a three-row interior, connected car technologies, advanced driver-assistance systems and a choice of powertrains. The growth in sales of this model showcases the growing appetite for premium SUVs in India. The XUV 7XO also outperformed the XUV 3XO and Bolero to register the second-highest sales figure for Mahindra in August.

XUV 3XO maintains its third spot with electric version boosting sales

The XUV 3XO registered sales of 8,302 units in August 2026 compared to 5,521 units sold in August 2025 marking a 50.37 per cent YoY growth. However, the XUV 3XO dipped by 11.95 per cent MoM compared to 9,429 units sold in July 2026.

The XUV 3XO competes with the likes of Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Brezza. The SUV offers a bold design and a choice of powertrains on offer. The XUV 3XO’s three-row interior, modern features and connected technologies have helped it carve a niche for itself in the highly competitive small SUV segment.

The electric version of the XUV 3XO has also contributed to the overall sales of this model. The demand for the electric SUV has increased as buyers are willing to switch to alternate fuel vehicles. This model has also captured the attention of customers as it offers cost-effective ownership and zero tailpipe emissions.

Bolero sustains its demand in the segment

The Bolero range remained in demand with 7,777 units sold in August 2026, marking a 2.10 per cent YoY growth compared to 7,617 units sold in August 2025. However, the sales of Bolero dipped by 13.33 per cent MoM compared to 8,973 units sold in July 2026.

Bolero is one of the oldest utility vehicle nameplates from Mahindra continuing to sustain its demand. It is a popular pick among buyers looking for commercial and agricultural use as the utility vehicle offers a host of features. The demand for this vehicle also comes from rural and semi-urban buyers who prefer body-on-frame monocoque SUVs for its ruggedness and simplicity.

Electric SUVs see phenomenal rise

Mahindra’s electric SUVs also recorded a significant rise in sales in August 2026. The company’s XEV 9S and XEV 9e combined together recorded sales of 6,509 units in August compared to 2,313 units sold in the same period of 2025. This marks an 181.41 per cent YoY growth. On the other hand, the BE 6 has a sportier design philosophy targeting buyers looking for a youthful electric SUV with long-range capabilities. The combined sales of the three electric SUVs stood at 8,205 units for Mahindra in August.
